Over 200 participants at the first ImmomioCon

Hamburg, 5 May 2023: ImmomioCon 2023 took place in Hamburg on 3 and 4 May 2023, attended by more than 200 decision-makers from the housing industry. The new event format from Hamburg-based Immomio GmbH focused on a combination of inspiration and networking – and on an engaging programme of talks and discussions with experts from the industry. The speakers included Axel Gedaschko, President of GdW Bundesverband deutscher Wohnungs- und Immobilienunternehmen (the Federal Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies), Dr Carsten Thies, Managing Director of Haufe Group, and Björn Jüngerkes, CEO of Dr. Klein Wowi Digital AG.

Things got under way in a relaxed atmosphere on 3 May with an evening get-together at the Hamburg event venue “Der Player”. On the playfully designed ‘Playground’, the industry networked between billiard tables and arcade machines – accompanied by live music from Denis Durant & Band, who also got the ImmomioCon participants dancing. On 4 May, the conference followed from 9 am, hosted by Alexandra Bredahl, Head of Sales & Marketing at Immomio. After a welcome from Nicolas Jacobi, Managing Director of Immomio, together with Kai Teute, member of the Immomio management team, and Andreas Breitner, Director of the Verband norddeutscher Wohnungsunternehmen e.V. (Association of Northern German Housing Companies), the first of two panel discussions began.
Dr Carsten Thies, Björn Jüngerkes and Richard Hector, Managing Director of Locoia GmbH, addressed the topic “Partner ecosystem: how interfaces make life easier”. This was followed by time for networking, before Laurine Kaatz, responsible for process optimisation at hanova Wohnen, and Volker Hiete, Head of Central Customer Service at hanova Wohnen, presented hanova Wohnen’s digital journey as a best-practice example.
In the second panel discussion, Axel Gedaschko, Ulrike Janssen, Managing Director of LEG Wohnen NRW, Thorsten Gleitz, Board Member of Wankendorfer Baugenossenschaft eG, and Karl-Heinz Frings, Managing Director of GBG – Mannheimer Wohnungsbaugesellschaft, discussed, among other things, the current situation on the housing market with rising construction costs, inflation and interest rate developments, and how digital solutions – some of which already exist – can help to widen the bottleneck to affordable housing again and also advance climate protection.
Due to statutory data protection regulations, housing companies currently find it difficult, despite the digital options available, to establish a consistent climate pathway for their tenants. The discussion therefore gave rise to the spontaneous idea of founding an initiative to reduce data protection obstacles to climate protection and digitalisation.
After the lunch break, Philipp Westermeyer, founder of OMR (Online Marketing Rockstars), gave a one-hour keynote on “Digital life trends – what influence does digital marketing have on a company’s development?”, providing the audience with cross-industry inspiration.
To close the event, Nicolas Jacobi gave an insight into Immomio’s current development. Since 2015, Immomio has pursued the vision of digitalising the entire life cycle of properties. From a specialist in digital letting, the company has since evolved into a 360-degree platform for the housing industry.
“We are delighted that more than 200 participants celebrated a great networking event with us at our very first event of this kind. Our top speakers provided numerous ideas for work in the housing industry. The industry has proven that it is alive and well, and we are proud to be part of it,” explains Nicolas Jacobi, Managing Director of Immomio GmbH.
